Activities

We like to do fun things in CRC!

As a residential college, each quarter, we offer free or greatly discounted field trip opportunities to our residents.  Past field trips include: Second City, The Museum of Science and Industry, The Art Institute of Chicago, baseball games, musicals and plays (Rent!), ice skating in Millenium Park, Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!, and of course more!

We give you food and you don't even have to pay for it!

CRC has a lot of film students, so of course we're all about watching movies. You can host a movie showing--"recog"--and get housing points you and all your attendees doing it.

The purpose of Radiothon is to honor Will (and by having fun in his name, we do him the best honor possible), to raise funds for the memorial fund, to bring WXRU closer to the dorm and to get everyone to have a good time. With that in mind, I say we congratulate ourselves for putting together this event, we thank the Evanston businesses that helped make this event possible and we get involved and have a wonderful time. Will would love nothing better than that.

-Maurice Harris, alumni

Radiothon is a charity event that spans 48 hours and involves continuous radio shows, parties, games, and events. It began in 1988 in honor of one of CRC’s former residents, Tech junior William G. Arnold, who passed away in his sleep due to a condition known as heart arrhythmia.

IM Sports

Come play with us, whichever game it might be--dodgeball, football, and volleyball in the Fall, basketball and floor hockey in the Winter, and softball, soccer, and ultimate frisbee in the Spring!

Smash Team Assemble!

Smash Team is more than a team, or a smash - it is a smashing team way of life. Periodically, the clarion call of Tank‘s booming voice sounds, echoed down the hallowed corridors of 1-red and then the entire dorm, calling the champions to battle with the timeless call, “Smash Team, ASSEMBLE!”. Members have been known to abandon work, plan around the assembly, and even be called to action from outside the dorm (namely, from the courtyard, through an open window).

Originally, the activities of Smash Team focus on the classic Nintendo GameCube game, Super Smash Bros. Melee. The Smash Team fights mighty battles, all members vying for the coveted title of ‘winner of this Super Smash Bros. Melee game’, but more importantly, for the Smash Team World Championship. As of the 3rd Season of Smash Team, Smash Team 2.0: The Original, the Smash Team Assembled to play Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the third installment in the Super Smash Bros. series.
