New Student Guide
Heyo. Welcome to CRC!
You're undoubtedly viewing this page because you're a freshman
looking for some information about living in CRC in the upcoming school
year.
Hopefully this little guide will help you with your transition to
Northwestern and the Communications Residential College.
If you haven't already, take a look at our "About" page.
You should find some helpful information there.
If anything isn't covered on this website, feel free to email me, Cassi
(cassi@u.northwestern.edu),
or our dorm president, Tony (tmucia@u.northwestern.edu).
We look forward to seeing you this fall!
Firstoff, what do CRCers have to say about CRC?
People who live in CRC like CRC. Read welcome letters
from our New Student Week Chairs,
our dorm president, and our assistant master.
Do you have a Wiki?
Actually, yeah.
What is an ACM? Did someone just say "dingle?"
CRC and Northwestern have some fun lingo that you'll get to be familiar
with.
Check out a list of dorm lingo here.
What should I bring with me to school?
Here is a list of things you should have with you at school:
Need:
fan
bedding (x-long twin sheets--you can buy these pretty much anywhere
they sell lots of sheets and the bedding promoted by Northwestern is a
ripoff)
power strips
ethernet cable (20 feet long)
refrigerator (coordinate with your roommate!)
laundry hamper, detergent, quarters
shower shoes, towels, shower caddy
computer
clothes...
hangers
alarm clock

medical supplies (band-aids, etc)
Suggested:
over-the-door hooks
dishes/silverware/cups/dish soap
lamp (highly suggested)
DVDs (see our resident movie list)
rain boots
umbrella (highly suggested)

can win prizes)

By the way, you can buy pretty much anything in Evanston (such as at
