Points
What are points? CRC members
earn points by
attending dorm events and performing philanthropy. Each academic
quarter, members must obtain a certain number of points in order to be
"preferred." Preferred members are ranked higher in the housing
lottery. In other words, they have a better choice of rooms for the
following year.
One point is equivalent to one
event, or in the case of philanthropy, 1 point = 1 hour.
Here's what it takes to be
preferred each quarter:
- 6 attendance points. Attendance points are
earned by coming to all-college meetings, which are held every Sunday
at 7 p.m.
- 10 community points. These are earned by
attending other dorm events - munchies, firesides, "recogs" (movie
viewings) and more. A maximum of 6 recog points may be used to count
toward the required 10 community points.
- 3 philanthropy points. This is equivalent to
three hours of community service, which members may perform however
they wish. CRC's philanthropy chairs sponsor great community service
trips and activities each quarter.
Non-residents, however, have
different requirements: 2 attendance points, 3 community points,
& 1 philanthropy point.
